  • ENGIE is using VivaTech 2026 in Paris as an international platform to showcase activities at the intersection of energy, digitalization, and AI.

  • The focus of the trade show presence is on engaging with startups.

  • Since Germany is the “Country of the Year” at VivaTech 2026, ENGIE is inviting German startups in particular to visit its booth in Paris to engage in dialogue and jointly launch projects for the energy transition.

Cologne – Viva Technology (VivaTech) is one of Europe’s most significant innovation and startup events. From June 17 to 20, 2026, the international tech community will gather in Paris. This year, Germany takes center stage as “Country of the Year” at the trade show, bringing more than 200 startups as well as partners from business and research to the German pavilion. The focus is on key topics such as artificial intelligence, energy, mobility, health, and resilient infrastructure. As a French energy group with a strong German presence, ENGIE has been actively shaping the trade show for years. ENGIE Deutschland is using the platform to deepen the exchange between German and French innovators. “For ENGIE, VivaTech is far more than just a trade show. It is a showcase for the technologies accelerating the energy transition in Europe,” says Eric Stab, CEO of ENGIE Deutschland AG. “The fact that Germany is the guest country in 2026 underscores the close industrial and technological ties between our two countries. We are using this moment to connect German and French innovative strength even more closely.” On an area of 350 square meters, ENGIE is presenting 20 solutions, including seven international startups supported by the Group. These companies are showcasing market-ready solutions for key areas of the energy transition: from AI-based asset management and robot-assisted maintenance of renewable energy plants to new value chains for green gases and heating networks. Trade visitors will gain in-depth insights into the technologies, their applications, and the collaboration with ENGIE during guided tours of the booth.

Innovation at the Heart of the Energy Transition

For ENGIE, innovation is a key driver of the Group’s strategy. The Group supports startups in a variety of ways: through investments and venture capital, technical expertise from the CRIGEN, LABORELEC, and CYLERGIE research centers in France and Belgium, business acceleration, and international visibility on platforms such as VivaTech. Thanks to its presence in 30 countries, ENGIE provides startups with access to users, pilot customers, and industry partners. With Germany serving as the guest country at this year’s VivaTech 2026, ENGIE Deutschland is inviting local startups to become part of this community: “Germany has an exceptionally strong startup ecosystem, particularly in the fields of energy, industry, and deep tech,” emphasizes Eric Stab. “We invite German founders to apply to ENGIE. We offer not only capital and expertise but also access to an international industrial network where their solutions can be rapidly implemented. This is precisely the bridge we want to build together with the German innovation scene.” Interested startups can find further information and the application form at innovation.engie.com.

The ENGIE booth at VivaTech is located in Hall 7.2, Booth 2F15.

About ENGIE Germany and the ENGIE Group

ENGIE is a key player in the energy transition, committed to accelerating the shift toward a carbon-neutral economy. In Germany, we plan, build, operate, and market wind, solar, and hydroelectric power plants, as well as pumped-storage and battery storage facilities. We support industrial customers, municipalities, and the housing sector in achieving their sustainability goals by optimizing consumption and implementing and operating highly efficient building and energy systems. With concepts for climate-friendly heating, mobility, and digitalization, we help develop sustainable neighborhoods. We trade in electricity and gas, supply end customers with energy, offer interdisciplinary engineering solutions in the fields of energy, water, and infrastructure, and are among the leading storage operators in Germany. In 2025, the ENGIE companies in Germany, with approximately 5,500 employees, generated revenue of 2.4 billion euros.

The activities of the ENGIE Group, operating in 30 countries, are complementary: generation of electricity from renewable energy sources and green gases, flexibility (especially battery storage), gas and electricity transmission and distribution networks, local energy infrastructure (heating and cooling networks), and the energy supply of households, municipalities, and businesses. The publicly listed company generated sales of approximately €71.9 billion in 2025 with more than 90,000 employees.
